Welcome to Chipping Ongar Primary School.

This website is intended to give you a feel for the work of our school, however we would also like you to come and see us for yourselves. We are extremely proud of the children's academic work and of their attitudes and behaviour, and therefore we extend a warm invitation to both yourselves and your children to visit the school to see us at work and share our lively, friendly atmosphere and our high standards of education.

Chipping Ongar Primary School is a Primary School serving the needs of approximately 200 children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. In a caring and well-ordered environment all children will achieve their own potential: academically, spiritually, emotionally, physically and aesthetically.

As headteacher of the school I am proud to lead a dedicated, professional team of staff who put the children and their development in the centre of everything they do. We help every child to progress, academically and to ensure that children leave our school ready for the next stage of their lives. 

We care deeply about what we do. We develop in each child a 'growth mindset' so that whatever they are doing they understand that learning takes practice and understanding. It is their own efforts that will ultimately bring them success and we will do everything to ensure that they are successful. We celebrate the children's successes in assembly and in class, but also recognise their effort and ongoing resilience to learning new things and ideas, and the progress they are making.

We are aware that whilst we will prioritise the National Curriculum in the classroom environment we will also help children to excel in musical, artistic and sports activities and to become considerate and respectful individuals. Our vision is for every child to be able to learn for themselves, be responsible and reflective so that they have the self belief to make good progress and achieve highly.
